I made these snowflakes out of paper to hang from the ceiling at the store during the Christmas season. I must have made about 30 and the few that survived after the holidays made it back to my bedroom!

We sat around and enjoyed the last day of the old year in front of the TV. It was the perfect opportunity to draw the back of friends’ heads.

I spend a lot of my time making lists of things to do, things to buy, and things I need to accomplish in my planner. I never thought about making my lists into a weekly checklist so that I can actually make sure I get to them all on  a daily/weekly/monthly basis. Then I came across the UpUp Creative shop of Julie Green on Etsy.

I give her all the credit for the original idea. If I didn’t see her design I would continue to attempt organizing my life with post-it notes. I wish I had the  money to just go and buy her version, but one thing about being an artist/designer is that sometimes it feels silly to pay money for someone to do the work you can make yourself. I had fun spending an hour  just making the list for myself in Illustrator. It’s just for me and I don’t plan on making it for others, or using it for profit, or even using it in any portfolio because clearly I’m copying someone else’s work. Is it too early to think about Christmas presents?

Well I know what I want and its this drafting table!
